Child Support Modification

Child Support Mediation is a process that helps parents resolve disputes related to child support payments outside of the courtroom. It involves the assistance of a neutral mediator who helps facilitate communication and negotiation between the parents. 

The purpose of Child Support Mediation is to reach a mutually agreeable child support arrangement that takes into account the best interests of the child and meets the financial needs of the child. Mediation can be used to address various issues, such as determining the amount of child support, modifying existing child support orders, or resolving disputes regarding non-payment or late payment of child support. 

During the mediation process, the mediator helps the parents discuss their financial circumstances, understand the child's needs, and explore potential solutions. They may consider factors such as each parent's income, expenses, parenting time, and any special needs of the child. The mediator does not make decisions but assists the parents in reaching an agreement that works for both parties. 

Child Support Mediation can be a less adversarial and more cooperative approach compared to litigation. It allows the parents to have more control over the outcome and promotes a more positive and cooperative co-parenting relationship.
